About
As Girl Scout Service Unit 718, we are a community of volunteers and girls serving to support over 30 Girl Scout troops in Frankfort IL. The Service Unit is an essential support system that organizes trainings, mentorship, girl programs, and membership support for volunteers, girls, and girl families. IN this capacity, we serve as a connection to your Girl Scout council and GSUSA as a whole.
At our monthly meetings, we share information about upcoming events and new information from GSGCNWI and GSUSA with representatives from each troop. All troops must have someone present at each Service Unit meeting to listen to these vital and useful updates and ask any questions they may have.
We believe all women can embrace who they are,
can define their future, and can change the world.
Who are the Girl Scouts?
Since 1912, when we were founded by trailblazer Juliette Gordon Low, Girl Scouts has given girls the tools to lead, break barriers, and create positive change. We are the largest girl-led leadership development organization for girls in the world and a member of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts , a sisterhood of nearly 10 million girls and adults in 150 countries. With programs from coast to coast and across the globe, Girl Scouts offers every girl the chance to practice a lifetime of leadership, adventure, and success.
Our Vision
Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. This is accomplished by providing an all-girl and girl-controlled environment where girls can discover, maximally learn, and hone their leadership skills. Girls of all ages are taught the core values of courage, confidence, leadership, character, and entrepreneurship.
